In 2023, the Florida Senate attempted to pass a bill saying bloggers writing about legislators had to register with the state. As this blatant violation of free speech was just barely avoided, I made music to spotlight these antics and learned to build platforms resistant to censorship. Now that censorship has become the norm—with those in power suggesting dissidents are enemies of the state—it’s time we stopped relying on the tools of our masters. It’s time we learned to build ourselves.

Gardenia Works’ purpose is to give people the means to challenge things as they are. By informing the unengaged of threats to civil liberties and teaching the uninitiated about digital freedom, Gardenia Works aims to disarm systems that challenge our constitutional rights and help foster an era where the average person feels less helpless.

Money given will be used for things like:

• Creating and distributing music under Creative Commons
• Maintaining websites and covering operational costs
• Hiring contractors and employees as needed
